Artist's Description
Here is basalt rock which has been sculpted over the ages by the Deschutes River into interesting swirls and curves. The way it has been shaped, it almost looks to me like the rock itself is flowing. The Deschutes River passes through Bend, Oregon, where I got to spend a lucky few days in the spring of 2017.

About Tim Newton
I am a lifelong Alaskan (except for a few years "outside") perpetually enthralled with Alaska's unique natural beauty. I carry a camera, lenses, and tripod about on frequent treks throughout the Alaska wilderness, often in the Chugach Mountains near my home. I am mostly drawn to conventional landscape photography - subject, light, composition, and color. Occasionally I'll get the opportune shot of wildlife as I trek about, and sometimes - but infrequently - I travel outside Alaska, where of course my camera accompanies me. :-) I am always updating images here from recent treks, and look forward to seeing you here again soon! Best wishes! Tim Newton
