Most of my life I have loathed this thorn-covered spite-bush, which viciously punishes any wayward step or handhold, and defends vast swaths of backcountry against any who would dare to pass through. In recent times, however, my loathing has been overcome by its singular beauty. In my senior years, I'm now surprised to find myself thinking of it fondly.

I am a lifelong Alaskan (except for a few years "outside") perpetually enthralled with Alaska's unique natural beauty. I carry a camera, lenses, and tripod about on frequent treks throughout the Alaska wilderness, often in the Chugach Mountains near my home. I am mostly drawn to conventional landscape photography - subject, light, composition, and color. Occasionally I'll get the opportune shot of wildlife as I trek about, and sometimes - but infrequently - I travel outside Alaska, where of course my camera accompanies me. :-) I am always updating images here from recent treks, and look forward to seeing you here again soon!
