I love these reds in the fall. Here they are at their height. Later the evening this was photographed, this entire area was covered with its first snow of the season. When the first snow falls, any remaining reds turn brown and grey. Very sad, for some of us. :-)

I am a lifelong Alaskan (except for a few years "outside") perpetually enthralled with Alaska's unique natural beauty. I carry a camera, lenses, and tripod about on frequent treks throughout the Alaska wilderness, often in the Chugach Mountains near my home. I am mostly drawn to conventional landscape photography - subject, light, composition, and color. Occasionally I'll get the opportune shot of wildlife as I trek about, and sometimes - but infrequently - I travel outside Alaska, where of course my camera accompanies me. :-) I am always updating images here from recent treks, and look forward to seeing you here again soon! Best wishes! Tim Newton

Great fall scene from beautiful Alaska L/F
Tim Newton replied:
Thank you, Inge!! :-) The season is so short here, especially if we get a frost, all the color is gone in a blink!
