Winter has now arrived in my neck of the woods, as witnessed by this photo from last night. Here is a path where I often take an evening walk, in the foothills of Alaska's Chugach Mountains.

I am a lifelong Alaskan (except for a few years "outside") perpetually enthralled with Alaska's unique natural beauty. I carry a camera, lenses, and tripod about on frequent treks throughout the Alaska wilderness, often in the Chugach Mountains near my home. I am mostly drawn to conventional landscape photography - subject, light, composition, and color. Occasionally I'll get the opportune shot of wildlife as I trek about, and sometimes - but infrequently - I travel outside Alaska, where of course my camera accompanies me. :-) I am always updating images here from recent treks, and look forward to seeing you here again soon! Best wishes! Tim Newton

I spent two winters in Alaska while in the service at Ft. Greeley. This reminds me of those sub-sub temperatures. Burrrrr
Tim Newton replied:
Haha!! Yeah, you don't see too much snow down San Diego way!! Thank goodness it doesn't get so cold here as Ft. Greeley, however!! Burrrrr for SURE!! :-)
