Here is the beautiful but poisonous flower Monk's Hood, also known as Wolf's Bane, against a backdrop of my favorite plant in the world, Fireweed. These are common wild plants found blooming all throughout the spring and early summer in most of Alaska.
This image was captured in RAW format at full resolution with a Canon 5d Mk II camera, 24-105 mm f/4.0 IS L lens, handheld, 105 mm, 1/125 sec, f/4, ISO 200, 12.7 MB, 3252x4452 px.

About Tim Newton
I am a lifelong Alaskan (except for a few years "outside") perpetually enthralled with Alaska's unique natural beauty. I carry a camera, lenses, and tripod about on frequent treks throughout the Alaska wilderness, often in the Chugach Mountains near my home. I am mostly drawn to conventional landscape photography - subject, light, composition, and color.
