Artist's Description
This is Campbell Creek beneath Little O'Malley Mountain in Alaska's Chugach Mountains. This day was very cold, and I struggled to keep my hands warm enough to just keep frostbite away, not to mention operate my camera!
This image was captured in RAW format at full resolution with a Canon 5d Mk III camera, 24-70mm f/2.8 L II lens, and Gitzo 2542L tripod with Acratech GP Ballhead, 57mm, 0.6 sec, f/22, ISO 100, 20.4 MB, 3840x5760 px.

About Tim Newton
I am a lifelong Alaskan (except for a few years "outside") perpetually enthralled with Alaska's unique natural beauty. I carry a camera, lenses, and tripod about on frequent treks throughout the Alaska wilderness, often in the Chugach Mountains near my home. I am mostly drawn to conventional landscape photography - subject, light, composition, and color. Occasionally I'll get the opportune shot of wildlife as I trek about, and sometimes - but infrequently - I travel outside Alaska, where of course my camera accompanies me. :-) I am always updating images here from recent treks, and look forward to seeing you here again soon! Best wishes! Tim Newton

Nice to see your work on FAA, Tim! Love the color combination in this photo, very well done.
Tim Newton replied:
Thank you so much, Alexander!! :-) I just discovered you here on FAA the other day, too, though I see you've been here a long while, and have collected a lot of your brilliant work here. Congratulations on your magnificent portfolio - your talent and hard work really show!! Do you feel like the effort of building your portfolio here has proven worthwhile for you? I've been trying to talk myself into re-visiting this very spot during the last week. I pass pretty close nearly every day on my jog, and the creek is about mid-way to being frozen over. But I haven't yet been able to convince myself to go frost my hands & feet this winter! The creek will be frozen solid soon, so I might not make it out there before cabin fever sets in. :-)
