Pathway to Flattop
As many times as I've hiked past this chain fence on the way up Flattop, you'd think I'd possess enough photos of it by now, but apparently not. Flattop is a 3500 ft. mountain on the outskirts of Anchorage, and is a very popular hiking destination. I often climb it for fun and exercise, and if I have my camera along, there's a very good chance I'll come back with photos from this spot.

I am a lifelong Alaskan (except for a few years "outside") perpetually enthralled with Alaska's unique natural beauty. I carry a camera, lenses, and tripod about on frequent treks throughout the Alaska wilderness, often in the Chugach Mountains near my home. I am mostly drawn to conventional landscape photography - subject, light, composition, and color. Occasionally I'll get the opportune shot of wildlife as I trek about, and sometimes - but infrequently - I travel outside Alaska, where of course my camera accompanies me. :-) I am always updating images here from recent treks, and look forward to seeing you here again soon! Best wishes! Tim Newton
