This is the falls beneath Pyramid Point, headwaters of Ship Creek, deep in Alaska's Chugach Mountains. I climbed to somewhere on the ridge to the left of this peak, a few years back. But I took an unsuitable route (I should have gone up the right-hand side, I learned afterward) and got blocked by a section I was not skilled enough to get past. The clouds rolled in to envelope me, and I found myself looking at an exposed face toward the peak, which I decided not to risk.

I am a lifelong Alaskan (except for a few years "outside") perpetually enthralled with Alaska's unique natural beauty. I carry a camera, lenses, and tripod about on frequent treks throughout the Alaska wilderness, often in the Chugach Mountains near my home. I am mostly drawn to conventional landscape photography - subject, light, composition, and color. Occasionally I'll get the opportune shot of wildlife as I trek about, and sometimes - but infrequently - I travel outside Alaska, where of course my camera accompanies me. :-) I am always updating images here from recent treks, and look forward to seeing you here again soon! Best wishes! Tim Newton
