We had quite a few wildfires in Alaska, early summer 2015. Our midnight sun was dimmed a bit behind the fire-smoke in our skies, allowing me to get this shot without a filter. This photo was taken a few minutes ago at 10:39pm, local time. If you look closely, you can see a handful of sunspots.

I am a lifelong Alaskan (except for a few years "outside") perpetually enthralled with Alaska's unique natural beauty. I carry a camera, lenses, and tripod about on frequent treks throughout the Alaska wilderness, often in the Chugach Mountains near my home. I am mostly drawn to conventional landscape photography - subject, light, composition, and color.
