An eagle perches in front of Mt. Susitna, by all appearances taking in the sunset view. Mt. Susitna, across Cook Inlet from Anchorage Alaska, is known in this area as "Sleeping Lady", because her profile looks like, well, a sleeping lady! That's her long hair trailing off to the left, and her legs to the right. My grandmother homesteaded by herself just this side of Sleeping Lady's ankles, where she had a small cabin and kept a dog sledding team.

I am a lifelong Alaskan (except for a few years "outside") perpetually enthralled with Alaska's unique natural beauty. I carry a camera, lenses, and tripod about on frequent treks throughout the Alaska wilderness, often in the Chugach Mountains near my home. I am mostly drawn to conventional landscape photography - subject, light, composition, and color. Occasionally I'll get the opportune shot of wildlife as I trek about, and sometimes - but infrequently - I travel outside Alaska, where of course my camera accompanies me. :-) I am always updating images here from recent treks, and look forward to seeing you here again soon! Best wishes! Tim Newton

The bird gives the image a great boost in this overwhelming landscape!
Tim Newton replied:
Thank you, Henk!! He refused to hang around long after I got my camera set up. Just a couple shots, then he was gone. :-)

This is a great environmental wildlife shot. Well done!
Tim Newton replied:
Thank you, Bryan!! :-)
