Artist's Description
A few years back my oldest son and I hiked the Kalalau cliffs in Kauai, and spent a few days & nights at the end of the trail, just back of the famous secluded beach there. Here is the view about half way there, where what appeared to be a Hawaiian ceremonial platform was lit by a ray of sunshine as I passed. What a wondrous, enchanted place!
This image was captured in RAW format with a Canon 5d Mk II camera, 24-105 mm f/4 L lens, handheld, 24 mm, 1/250 sec, f/11, ISO 100, 3.96 MB, 2784x1856 px.

About Tim Newton
I am a lifelong Alaskan (except for a few years "outside") perpetually enthralled with Alaska's unique natural beauty. I carry a camera, lenses, and tripod about on frequent treks throughout the Alaska wilderness, often in the Chugach Mountains near my home. I am mostly drawn to conventional landscape photography - subject, light, composition, and color. Occasionally I'll get the opportune shot of wildlife as I trek about, and sometimes - but infrequently - I travel outside Alaska, where of course my camera accompanies me. :-) I am always updating images here from recent treks, and look forward to seeing you here again soon! Best wishes! Tim Newton
