From the carved jagged mountains filling the horizon, to gouged and scoured rocks along the shoreline, to tidal flats layered deep and wide in fine gray silt, the millennia of glaciers in the Turnagain Arm of Alaska's Cook Inlet have left their indelible stamp.
This image was captured in RAW format at full resolution with a Canon 5d Mk III camera, 16-35mm f/2.8 L II lens, tripod stabilized, 20 mm, 0.3 sec, f/22, ISO 100, 10.1 MB, 3522x5098 px.

About Tim Newton
I am a lifelong Alaskan (except for a few years "outside") perpetually enthralled with Alaska's unique natural beauty. I carry a camera, lenses, and tripod about on frequent treks throughout the Alaska wilderness, often in the Chugach Mountains near my home. I am mostly drawn to conventional landscape photography - subject, light, composition, and color. Occasionally I'll get the opportune shot of wildlife as I trek about, and sometimes - but infrequently - I travel outside Alaska, where of course my camera accompanies me. :-) I am always updating images here from recent treks, and look forward to seeing you here again soon!
