Here is my late autumn camp in the backcountry of Alaska's Chugach Mountains. You can see winter closing its steely grip upon this land. This shot is about 30 minutes before sunset, when this singular patch of blue sky opened up through the day-long skies of freezing rain, sleet, and snow. I am a lifelong Alaskan (except for a few years "outside") perpetually enthralled with Alaska's unique natural beauty. I carry a camera, lenses, and tripod about on frequent treks throughout the Alaska wilderness, often in the Chugach Mountains near my home. Occasionally I'll get the opportune shot of wildlife as I trek about, and sometimes - but infrequently - I travel outside Alaska, where of course my camera accompanies me. :-) I am always updating images here from recent treks, and look forward to seeing you here again soon! Best wishes! Tim Newton
